DuPont strengthens worker protection with high-performance flame-resistant clothing against extreme climates.

At temperatures exceeding 40°C, DuPont emphasizes the importance of PPE to safeguard the safety, comfort, and integrity of workers exposed to intense heat.

Mexico City, 2025.- In light of the recent extreme heat waves that have affected various regions of the country, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius and wind chills reaching up to 50 degrees, the safety of workers exposed to these environments becomes an unavoidable priority.

In this context, having protective equipment and appropriate clothing to safeguard workers' physical integrity is essential to provide them with protection and well-being in challenging thermal conditions.

DuPont's line of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifically garments made with Nomex® fibers, offers robust defense against thermal hazards.

These fibers have inherent heat and flame resistance, meaning they won't melt, drip, or burn, even after multiple washes or prolonged exposure to extreme heat.

Beyond the fabric, the effectiveness of flame-resistant clothing also depends on details such as the threads and seams used. It is essential that each component of the garment be designed to withstand high temperatures, thus ensuring comprehensive protection that prevents the spread of fire and maintains the structural integrity of the PPE at all times.

Another challenge is maintaining safety without compromising the comfort of these devices, so garments must be designed to be lightweight and breathable, minimizing thermal stress and allowing the wearer to maintain optimal performance, even in adverse weather conditions.

On the other hand, it's important to keep in mind that, even with the use of these garments, the culture of prevention and industrial safety must be strengthened, and the use of new technologies must be implemented to ensure that every worker returns home safely.

In recent years, the climate has been changing, becoming more extreme and challenging workers who must continue to work under these conditions.

In times of increasing climate challenges, it is essential to recognize and act for the well-being of those on the frontlines.
